International Conference on Fast Reactors and Related Fuel Cycles Held in Beijing
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) International Conference on Fast Reactors and Related Fuel Cycles was held in Beijing from 18 to 21 May under the theme “From Innovation to Implementation”. The event was hosted by the China Institute of Atomic Energy under the China National Nuclear Corporation.
Liu Jing, Vice-Chairman of the China Atomic Energy Authority (CAEA), attended the opening ceremony and gave a welcome address. IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi delivered a video message.
Those in attendance were Huang Ping, Secretary-General of the CAEA; Zhao Xuejun, Deputy Director of the State Nuclear Security Technology Centre; Ye Qizhen and Lei Zengguang, members of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Ye Guo’an and Liu Weiping, members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Experts and scholars from 48 countries and international organizations were also present, including those from China, Russia, France, Italy and Japan.
