On 10 May, the first concrete for the nuclear island of Unit 4 was poured at CGN’s Taipingling Nuclear Power Plant in Guangdong Province. This marked the official commencement of the unit’s main construction and the full-scale launch of Phase II of the Taipingling Nuclear Power Project.

The Taipingling Nuclear Power Project is the first nuclear power project in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to adopt China’s third-generation “Hualong One” nuclear power technology. The project involves the construction of six “Hualong One” nuclear power units in three phases, with four units approved so far.
