Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant Safely Generates Over 400 Billion kWh Cumulatively
On 16 May, Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant, the largest nuclear power base in Fujian Province by operating installed capacity, achieved a cumulative power generation of over 400 billion kilowatt-hours, according to China National Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. (CNNP).
The plant’s six units have an annual power generation capacity of over 50 billion kWh. This is equivalent to saving approximately 15.27 million tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 40.02 million tons each year — the equivalent of nearly 113,000 hectares of newly planted forest annually.
