At 1:12 on November 11, the No. 2 reactor of the Huaneng Shidao Bay HTGRs Nuclear Power Plant Demonstration Project, a major national science and technology project, achieved the first criticality in air atmosphere, marking that both reactors of the demonstration project have entered the power operation state with nuclear. At present, the demonstration project No. 1 reactor has completed the zero-power physical test in the low-power stage under helium atmosphere, and is carrying out subsequent charging to advance to the goal of grid-connected power generation for the first time.
