On March 9, 2022, Liaoning Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. and State Power Investment Northeast Electric Power Co., Ltd., the largest central heating supply enterprise in Liaoning, signed a cooperation agreement on the construction, operation and maintenance of nuclear energy heating supply demonstration projects. It is the first nuclear energy heating supply project in Northeast China, located in Hongyanhe Town, Wafangdian City, Dalian City. The preliminary planning and design heating supply area is 242,400 square meters,  benefiting . nearly 20,000 local people to enjoy heating service. The project is planned to kiff off  at the outside of the nuclear power plant   in June this year, and the local towns surrounding Hongyanhe will be supplied with steam during the heating supply period in this winter.
