Unit 6 of Liaoning Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Station was successfully connected to the grid for the first time on May 2, indicating the Unit 6 of Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Station was of the power generation capacity and taking another key step towards the goal of commercial operation.

As the first nuclear power plant and the largest energy investment project in Northeast China, Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Station is of a total of 6 nuclear power units. The four units of the first phase of the project were all completed and put into commercial operation in 2016; the construction of units 5 and 6 of the second phase of the project started in 2015, and the unit 5 was put into production on schedule on July 31, 2021.
