On June 21, 2023, Sanmen Nuclear Power Co., Ltd., Taizhou Haitou Group, Linhai Municipal People's Government, Sanmen County People's Government, and Rongsheng New Materials (Taizhou) Co., Ltd. jointly signed the "Memorandum of Cooperation on Taizhou Nuclear energy Zero-carbon Smart Steam Supply Project",to fully implement the national green and low-carbon development strategy, promote the diversified development of the nuclear energy comprehensive utilization industry, and contribute to the construction of major projects in Zhejiang Province. According to the memorandum, the nuclear energy steam supply project will be progressed simultaneously with the Rongsheng Taizhou new material project , and Sanmen Nuclear Power Co., Ltd., as the nuclear energy steam supplier, will provide high-quality industrial steam with an annual output of 10 million tons for the first phase of the industrial park. The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2026, with a steam supply capacity of 1,800 tons per hour. After the project is put into operation, it will become the largest nuclear energy steam supply project in China, with an equivalent reduction of 3.33 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year, which is equivalent to a new forestation area of 9,058 hectares.
