Time: 2024-07-08

The Radiation Monitoring Technical Centre of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment has recently become a full member of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)’s ALMERA. This makes the Centre the first representative of China’s ecology and environment sector to join the international network.

Established in 1995, the Analytical Laboratories for the Measurement of Environmental Radioactivity (ALMERA) is a globally recognized network of laboratories selected by IAEA Member States for their outstanding competence in the measurement of environmental radioactivity. The primary objective of the network is to strengthen the capabilities of its member laboratories through the organization of technical exchanges, proficiency testing, analytical method development and the provision of standard materials. By the end of 2023, ALMERA had 200 member laboratories from 90 countries.
