On 9 October, the China Institute of Atomic Energy (CIAE) marked the start of construction of its base in Huludao City, Liaoning Province, accompanied by a seminar on the development of nuclear science and technology innovation.

The Huludao base is poised to develop an integrated nuclear science and technology innovation system. This system will be anchored by a series of large-scale research facilities, with a focus on specialized research and test platforms, and supported by public service and support infrastructure. The aim is to create a globally recognized cluster of nuclear science and technology innovation and testing facilities, thereby promoting the advancement of the field.
