On 10 December 2024, Qinshan Nuclear Power announced the official launch of its dedicated 5G network at a conference. This marks a significant milestone as Qinshan Nuclear Power becomes the first nuclear power base in China to achieve full 5G network coverage within the plant.

Construction of the 5G network project began in October 2022. Over the course of 26 months and the overhaul of nine units, more than 12,000 pieces of equipment were installed and more than 1 million metres of cable were laid. These extensive efforts have enabled seamless interconnection and communication with various networks, including the nuclear power management network, the administrative telephone network and the industrial video network.
