On 18 November, the China General Nuclear Power Corporation (CGN) officially launched its independently developed New-generation Intelligent Instrumentation and Control System (iNICS). This represents a pioneering breakthrough in China’s nuclear power instrumentation & control (I&C) systems within the digital intelligence sector.

Built upon FirmSys technology, this innovative nuclear power I&C system integrates digital twin and artificial intelligence technologies. It establishes a “digital intelligence brain” for nuclear power plants, providing ‘perception, analysis, decision-making and execution’ capabilities throughout the entire closed-loop process.

The system has achieved 100% domestic production and features advanced intelligent functions such as fault warning, intelligent monitoring, and assisted decision-making. It is set to transform nuclear power plant operations, moving them towards a smarter model characterized by enhanced safety, operational stability, and reduced human intervention.
