China-France Nuclear Power Experience Exchange Seminar Held in Beijing
On 23 April, the 2026 China-France Nuclear Power Experience Exchange Seminar was held in Beijing. The event was co-hosted by the China Nuclear Energy Association and the French Nuclear Industry Association (GIFEN). Over 90 representatives from government agencies, enterprises and institutions in both countries attended the event.
Cao Shudong, executive vice chairman of the CNEA, and Olivier Bach, secretary general of the GIFEN, delivered opening remarks. Guo Limin, secretary general of the Chinese association, chaired the seminar.
Topics covered at the seminar included long-term plant operation, resilience to extreme weather, and small modular reactors. Chinese experts from Qinshan Nuclear Power, the Suzhou Thermal Engineering Research Institute, Hongyanhe Nuclear Power, the Nuclear Power Institute of China and Huaneng’s Shidaowan Nuclear Power joined their French counterparts from Framatome, Taishan Nuclear Power and GEM Energy for presentations and discussions.
