Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant Delivers Over 500 Billion kWh to Grid Cumulatively
The Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant in Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province, has cumulatively supplied over 500 billion kWh of electricity to the grid, China National Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. (CNNP) announced on 24 June.
This is equivalent to saving over 150 million tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by more than 400 million tons. This amount of electricity could power over 136 million Chinese households for one year or sustain the continuous operation of the country’s data centers for 2.9 years.
The plant is providing the region with reliable and robust power support as it transitions to a new energy mix, helping China to achieve its carbon peaking and neutrality goals.
