On 4 April, the first concrete was poured for the nuclear island of Unit 2 at the Jinqimen Nuclear Power Project in Xiangshan County, Ningbo, Zhejiang Province. This marked the start of the unit’s main construction work.

Construction of both units in Phase I of the Jinqimen project is now underway. The entire project is planned to comprise six 1000MWe PWRs with Hualong One technology.

Once fully operational, the plant is expected to generate 55TWh of electricity annually, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 45 million tons.
