China General Nuclear Power Group Co., Ltd.'s first leading ISO international standard in nuclear power field was approved
December 14th , 2021On November 23, China General Nuclear Power Group Co., Ltd. Suzhou Thermal Power Research Institute Co., Ltd. (abbreviated as "CGN Suzhou Institute") led the declaration of the international standard ISO AWI/23225.4 "Nuclear Power Plants Corrosion Control Engineering Life Cycle — General Requirements" was formally approved by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Technical Management Bureau (TMB). This standard is the first international standard that CGN has led the declaration and successfully established a project in the field of nuclear power. At the same time, Mr. Sun Yongliang of CGN Suzhou Institute became the nominated expert of the Chinese delegation of the standard setting project team and served as the project team leader. Huaneng Shidao Bay HTGRs achieves dual-reactor criticality
December 14th , 2021At 1:12 on November 11, the No. 2 reactor of the Huaneng Shidao Bay HTGRs Nuclear Power Plant Demonstration Project, a major national science and technology project, achieved the first criticality in air atmosphere, marking that both reactors of the demonstration project have entered the power operation state with nuclear. At present, the demonstration project No. 1 reactor has completed the zero-power physical test in the low-power stage under helium atmosphere, and is carrying out subsequent charging to advance to the goal of grid-connected power generation for the first time. AP1000 nuclear fuel assembly China domestically produced nuclear-grade zirconium material steadily completed the first cycle operation inside the reactor
November 10th , 2021According to a report from Baoji TV on October 9, recently, the first phase of SPIC Haiyang Nuclear Power completed the second cycle refueling and loading 128 sets of fuel assemblies. The first batch of 33,792 domestic nuclear-grade zirconium materials used in the assemblies was produced and supplied by the State Nuclear Power Zirconium Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of SPIC. The two units achieved full power operation for 1030 days, and successfully completed the first cycle operation of the full-life domestic nuclear-grade zirconium material in the reactor.

IAEA's first high-level radioactive waste geological disposal collaboration center established in China
November 10th , 2021On October 12, Mr. Zhang Kejian, Director of the National Atomic Energy Agency of China, and Mr. Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, jointly witnessed the signing of an agreement between the International Atomic Energy Agency and the Beijing Geological Research Institute of the China National Nuclear Corporation in the form of a video conference, designating the Beijing Institute of Geology of China National Nuclear Corporation as the "IAEA High-Level Waste Geological Disposal Collaboration Center".

Unit 1 of Yangjiang Nuclear Power Plant safe operation for 2500 days
September 10th , 2021As of August 28, Yangjiang Nuclear Power Unit No. 1 has been operating safely for 2,500 consecutive days. Since it was put into commercial operation on March 25, 2014, Yangjiang Nuclear Power Unit 1 has been adhering to the basic principles of "safety first, quality first, and pursuit of excellence", thoroughly practicing the "strict and cautious" work style, and maintaining the unit in safely stable operation. Among the 12 WANO (World Association of Nuclear Operators) pressurized water reactor performance indicators, the Unit 1 of Yangjiang Nuclear Power has 10 items reaching advanced values in 2020 and 2021 respectively, accounting for more than 80%.
